Getting to know me

Hi!!! I'm Daniella Acuna Morey, an interior designer since 2009, graduate of the prestigious European Institute of Design in Madrid, owner of a South Florida-based boutique studio DAM Interiors and now European Decor Group, which specializes in creating highly personalized, elegant, and functional interiors and retail store of all Interior needs.

I was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and from an early age I was drawn to art, culture, and the beauty of well-designed spaces. My education took me abroad to the UK, where I studied at Felsted School in London, before pursuing my first career in the culinary arts. I trained at Le Cordon Bleu Peru and won a scholarship to continue my studies in Paris, an extraordinary experience that allowed me to work and study in France. It was there, however, that I discovered cooking wasn’t my true passion.

Following my heart, I shifted paths and pursued Interior Design at IED Madrid, where I graduated with honors.

From the very first project, I knew I had found my calling. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working in different countries — including Spain, Peru, and now the United States, gaining vast knowledge of diverse styles of construction and design practices.

My journey eventually brought me to Florida, where I fell in love, married, started a family, and built my career doing what I truly love: interior design. Today, as the founder of DAM Interior Design, I bring my international perspective, cultural influences, and professional expertise into every project. Whether working on a full-scale renovation, a thoughtfully staged property, or a personalized design consultation, I approach each space with creativity, precision, and passion.

For me, design is more than simply creating something that is visually appealing or aesthetically pleasing; it encompasses a deeper commitment to shaping spaces that bring comfort, function, and joy to everyday life. It is an intricate process that involves understanding the needs and desires of individuals and communities, and translating those insights into tangible environments that enhance their experiences. Design serves as a bridge between creativity and practicality, allowing us to craft areas that not only look good but also serve a purpose in improving the quality of life for those who inhabit them.

My intent with this blog is to help you gain a comprehensive understanding of what it truly means to be an interior designer in the ever-evolving landscape of this industry. Interior design is not merely about selecting colors or arranging furniture; it encompasses a wide array of skills, knowledge, and creative vision that come together to transform spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments.
